  1. At first, go to the WhatsApp and open it
  2. Now, go to settings
  3. Then go to the – Account
  4. Look for the – Two-step verification
  5. Give a tap on – Enable
  6. Now, enter the six digit pass code on the next screen
  7. Then, re-enter the six digit pass code
  8. Now, add your email address on the next screen which is optional

As said it is optional, in the last step, WhatsApp will ask you for an email address to link with your account. This email address will allow the WhatsApp to send a link through email to disable two-step verification in case you forget the six digit pass code.

Also, to help you remember the pass code, the app will ask you to enter the pass code. Note that there is no option to disable the same without disabling the two-step verification feature.

Note that if you forget the six digit pass code, the app won’t permit re-verifying the account within seven days of last using the WhatsApp.

And after the seven days, your number will be permitted to re-verify on the same without your pass code but the user will lose all pending messages upon re-verifying. Also, if your number is re-verified on WhatsApp after 30 days of last using it and without your pass code, you account will be deleted. A new one will be created after re-verifying.
